details

This gown is so exquisite. It’s actually a custom Inbal Dror gown constructed of {what looks to be} a partially visible separate corset underpinning the luxurious silk and lace gown. The shimmery pink bridesmaid’s gowns are amazing.

Jana Williams photographed this wedding so beautifully, I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the gorgeous photos. Her friend and colleague Christina Chang ~ an incredible talent in her own right ~ photographed along with Williams as second shooter. Please visit http://www.jana-williams.com/  to experience this luxurious wedding story told through her flawless images. Golf Srithamrong of Tantawan Blooms rocked out some major florals for this event. He captivates with his stunning attention to detail. I truly love every aspect of this wedding. This opulent affair was also captured on film by Rob Adams.

Princesa de Portugal

Inveritable talent Portuguese designer Sandro Barros created this exquisite one of a kind princess gown for Camila Setúbal, daughter of Olavo Setúbal of São Paulo, Brazil. This is the answer to a question that has brides-to-be posting furiously to wedding forums, Pinterest and Facebook desperately trying to locate the designer of this gown.  Fully-removable top is made of a delicate and beautiful Alençon lace, bodice and double box pleat skirt are constructed of exquisite Italian silk satin skirt adorned with Alençon applique and the veil is the most exquisite I have ever seen, handmade at his [Barros’] atelier. Beautiful. Enjoy xo.

May I just say, this veil is so beautiful; every piece lovingly hand stitched by the atelier [Sandro Barros]. An heirloom veil if ever I did see one. A true work of art.

French Country Living

Inspired by the stunning homes of Provence, French Country design often incorporates ruffles, distressed woodwork with both vibrant and subdued hues. It’s an unstudied, collected approach, built on firmly entrenched local traditions and on cherished objects handed down through generations. Simple and sincere yet effortlessly elegant, it satisfies the soul as much as the eye.

The French have an innate sense of taste balanced with refinement that keeps this unassuming style from feeling pedestrian. French country décor always finds its centre no matter how many disparate elements are thrown into the mix. It marries an old-world sensibility with an edge of sophistication that keeps it enduring and fresh.

{French Country Inspired Home Office Space – A warm natural palette, crisp linens and several well chosen vintage provençal pieces bring quiet inspiration to this workspace. I love the window seat.}

Vintage Linens…

vintage linen and lace

“Antique French linens, lace and fabric of the superb quality and outstanding craftsmanship which are the hallmarks of European tradition”.  Fleur d’Andeol.

Since deciding to do this post, I have been doing my research on antique linens. Whether from France, England, Italy or Spain, linens (and lace) were extremely significant as well as symbolic. The French nobility displayed their stature in a variety of ways, not the least of which were the emblems embroidered on clothing and household linens. Linens, especially bed linens, almost always boar the initials of the family to which they belonged. I appreciate beautiful linens, whether they are bonafide  vintage or vintage inspired  from beautiful shops such as  http://www.peonyandsage.com/ , I would love to have an expansive collection. (My collection is comprised of 4 dinner napkins and truth be told, I actually do not use them however, I love to launder them and iron them every now and then!).

I enjoyed putting this post together so much…I came across so many lovely images and a wealth of information…I found it very difficult to say, OK – it’s done…publish!! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Shabby Chic Vintage Wedding Inspiration

Loveisabella

A Shabby Chic wedding makes me think of distressed white wooden chairs, wrought iron candle holders, beautiful flowers and a muted yet sparkling palette of pale pinks, blues and silver. Romantic. Vintage. Rustic.

vintage-lace-wedding-cake-1

I love the shape of this cake, the lace detailing and the fondant ribbon…what I really love? The cake stand which is a little tough to see but it would be the perfect cake foundation for a Shabby Chic wedding theme.

Lace and Burlap is one of the prettiest combinations; I love seeing them used together.

Elegant Pelican Hill Wedding

This luxe wedding is both ultra-chic and super stylish. The bride dons an absolutely gorgeous blush pink Vera Wang wedding gown to which she has added a sash of beading & grosgrain ribbon. Ralph Lauren Equestrian Inspired Wedding Shoot

I came across the work of the very talented Rachel A. Clingen several years ago at a bridal show in Toronto and she has been one of Toronto’s {and my} most beloved stylists. Her meticulous attention to detail helps tell the story of your wedding through beautiful florals and decor.

When I came across this shoot, it was love at first sight. The warm glow of the fall season was the perfect time for this Ralph Lauren Inspired wedding style shoot with antique decor accents and a pretty collection of flowers.  The equestrian details are so lovely; the horses and barn are Rachel’s. Enjoy xo.
